They boys went down for a nap after everybody left, and when they woke up we went out to eat at Sol Rio. Carson kept telling our server and everyone else who would listen that, "Today is my birfday, so you have to sing about me!" Unfortunately Sol Rio didn't sing to him, so we did! He had such a fun day!

20 hungry piggies. One of the families that was there has an illustrator in the family. Their dad wrote a little happy birthday message to Carson in the book. Illustrated by him, and written by his mom. Pretty cool!
We were having a hard time getting him to actually take his eyes off the presents and look into the camera. We would get a picture like this after 3 attempts previous.
bug jug. We had a pet beetle for a few days. Carson named him Barry. We also found a big nasty black cricket in our house and put him in there for 2 days. We finally let them go. I was SO hoping they wouldn't die on my watch!!

Wow, what a haul! And you had so many kids over, that had to be INSANE!!! I like the rule of only as many attendees as years of age. 12 four year olds? That's nuts. We were overwhelmed by 6 kids on Melinda's 4th birthday, and that was even with all the parents and even Jesse home to help. Lucky Carson to have a crazy mom and throw him a big party, huh? :)

ReplyDeleteAll but one of the kids were the kids that come to play group. Only one of the kids that was there was four. All of them are younger than that. And most of the families have 2 kids, so they both get invited. But it was no big deal, because it was the same about of kids that show up to play group every week. The ONLY time that it got crazy was when it was time to eat cake. They went a little wild, and of course it was nap time, so some of them were losing it! :o)

what a great party!! Good job, Mom. I'm thinking what a great thing family is...having the ice treasure idea from Becky, must have made you look exceptionally cool to your friends. It was an activity that took time, was some what contained and kept the kids' attention, I'm sure. I loved the pictures. Thank you for taking the time to put it all into your blog. Oh, the fishing idea was also very cool. I can just see James squealing.
