JD's belated birthday
I was going to have a big party for James a couple days after his birthday, but had to leave for my grandpa's funeral. So we had it when I got back, and it turned into a low key party. Ellie came to party with us, and it was a lot of fun. Poor JD hasn't had ONE birthday on time...maybe next year.
We left a little early and took some back roads. This is what we came across.

TRICK-OR-TREATING
These next few posts I'm just way behind on, and I'm playing catch up. I'll be putting them in order of actual dates later, but this is more for your viewing pleasure! :o)
We went trick-or-treating on halloween night. The kids had fun, but got tired quick and were lagging behind. I must say that Payton did a good job at keeping up though. At one point James just gave up and laid down on somebody's porch. After that we took the car technique for the rest of the night. We got lots of candy, and I've eaten too much of it!
Jen and Carson
Carson, James and Payton
Carson the Dragon. I dressed them up in last years costumes so they wouldn't get cold. Plus their pirate and doctor costumes got so dirty and I couldn't wash them because our dryer didn't get fixed until Halloween evening. Carson insisted on having his pirate sword and belt on his dragon costume....so here is the dragon pirate!
JD too tired to walk or move anymore

THANKSGIVING
I didn't get any pictures of my Thanksgiving this year. My camera was dead, and I forgot it anyway. We were invited to our good friend Tyler's house. His family was there, and he considers us family. It's a good thing otherwise we would've been having an expensive and LONG cooking day for just our tiny family. Although the leftovers would've been nice. :o)
The evening was INTERESTING to say the least!! I finally got to meet most of Tyler's family. All people Dorian has already met over the years. He would meet them by going to volleyball tournaments, and I would stay home with Carson. It was finally nice to put faces to names. And since we've know Tyler for almost our entire marriage, this meant a lot.
I got to talking with his Grandma, Patricia Felton (maiden name), and she mentioned she lived in Burley. I told her that I had a great aunt that lived there. She asked me the name, and it slipped me for about 5 minutes. Finally I remembered and told her that it was Larry and Marjean Holm. She lives down the hill form them, and we were laughing thinking it was such a small world. She then got to talking about her best friend growing up. Marjean's brother married her, but died working on a car. I thought *INTERESTING!!!!!!* So I asked what her friend's name was. She said, "Leetha." I about had an aneurism! I said, "that's my grandma!!!!" Now this really is a small world. Her husband was shocked to know that I was the granddaughter of Leetha and Wayne Wilcox. She shared many stories with me of when they were growing up, and I could have hugged the lady all night. SHE DEFINITELY SEEMS LIKE SOMEBODY WHO WOULD'VE BEEN BEST FRIENDS WITH MY GRANDMA!
It was such a nice feeling to be so close to someday, even for a short time, who had a history with my VERY MISSED grandma. I will always remember this Thanksgiving.
Basically, we can say we're related to Tyler now! (sort of. Close enough.)
On a side note:
I just finished reading Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. IT WAS SO GOOD! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good read. And just think, there are two more that go with it!! I can't wait.

TWILIGHT: AT MIDNIGHT
I got 4 hours of sleep, and I'll be taking a nap today, but it was well worth it!
Last night I went to the midnight showing of Twilight. I know, I'm crazy, but all in all is was really fun, and made me feel just a little bit younger! :o) I thought the movie was GREAT, and I would see it again no problem. There was a couple times where I thought the acting was a little awkward/not good, but hey, I can get past that.
(this scene is one of my favorites because of the song that's playing!)
I loved the music in the movie. I had a gotten a sneak peak to it through my sister, Becky's, MP3 player while I was at home visiting. It was good then, but may be a must have now. :o)
Now, I'm just dreaming about Edward all over again, wishing I was his Bella!!!
GO, and ENJOY IT!!!!!!

~GOODNIGHT MOM~ A MUST READ
I read this on one of my best friends blog. I fell in *LOVE* with it the moment I read it. I feel like this often, and I thought it was so good that it deserved a space on my blog!
ENJOY!
Goodnight Mom
In the messy green family room
There was a telemarketer ringing on the telephone
And a crying toddler because his brother just popped his red balloon
And a picture of--
The cow jumping over the moon
(which someone colored on with permanent marker)
And there was a missing teddy bear, and a girl with gum in her hair
And one to be scolded
And laundry to be folded
And a very hungry spouse
And something stinky in the house
(that no one else seemed to smell)
And a comb and a brush and a colicky baby who just won't shush
And a frazzled mommy screaming #*%#@
Goodnight messy room
Goodnight scribbled on moon
Goodnight cow getting out while she can
Goodnight telemarketers
And the popped balloon
Goodnight long-gone teddy bear
Goodnight cereal bar smeared all over the dining room chair
Goodnight spit up
And goodnight leaky sippy cup
Goodnight much-too-little house
And goodnight grumpy spouse
Goodnight comb and goodnight brush
And goodnight to a certain 4-year-old who just needs to hush right now I mean it
Goodnight Elmo
Goodnight toys we'll pick up tomorrow, or the next day
Goodnight noises everywhere
Hello ice cream and TiVo--
"Me" time finally

11.5.05
Today James turned 3 years old. Such a big boy. The fact that he's the same size as Carson has always made me think he's older than he really is. I always forget that he's just a little guy still figuring life out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!!!
We love you.

DR. SLAUGHTER'S HOUSE OF TERROR & MUSIC MAKERS
DR. SLAUGHTER'S HOUSE OF TERROR!!!
We went here after the ISU carnival. They covered a lot of the scary things. Then they put fairies and nice things all dressed up to had out candy throughout the haunted house. Carson and James had a lot of fun, and it made me REALLY want to go through with Dorian, but scheduling just never allowed that. Maybe next year!
IT WAS SO DARK IN THE BEGINNING, I couldn't see anything, so I snapped a pic of the boys.
here's the lion that greeted the kids in the VERY beginning

Here's my friend Kimber and Mr. X, and Belle walking through the door. (Don't send me hate mail Kimber, for putting you on here! (o: )

ISU Halloween Carnival
My friend and babysitter Nancy attends the Idaho Falls ISU campus. This year they had a FREE Halloween Carnival. They had dancers from Dr. Slaughter's House of Terror perform. James was really into watching them dance, and to be completely honest, they were pretty scary! They had all sorts of booths, and they even got a free book. It was a lot of fun. My favorite part was the FREE lunch of Pizza, fruit cups, and capri suns!! YUM! And my kids ate all their food without me forcing it down their throats. That makes for one happy mom!

He had to get the skull and cross bones (that's what it's called right!?!) because he was a pirate

We were actually kicked off of our number by a little kid, and had to run around to the very last number available. IT WAS THE WINNING NUMBER!!! Thank you little kid for kicking us off! :o)
